Tony Hsu is an associate at the Long Beach Office of Carroll, Kelly, Trotter, Franzen, McBride & Peabody.
After graduating from University of California, Santa Barbara with a Bachelor of Science degree in Biological Sciences and a minor in Sports Management, Mr. Hsu obtained his J.D. at Southwestern University School of Law. While he was there he received the CALI Award for Academic Excellence in Informal Systems of Order and completed an externship with The Alliance For Children’s Rights, a non-profit organization handling adoptions and foster care. Mr. Hsu was admitted to the California State Bar in 2004 and is licensed to practice in the United States District Court for the Central District of California. He is also a member of the Association of Southern California Defense Counsel.
Prior to joining Carroll, Kelly, Trotter, Franzen, McBride & Peabody in 2018, Mr. Hsu was an associate at the firm of Prindle, Goetz, Barnes & Reinholtz since 2004. His practice was primarily focused on asbestos and toxic tort defense litigation, representing clients including oil refineries, automotive and construction material manufacturers in multi-million dollar cases.
In his free time, Mr. Hsu is very active in USTA tennis tournaments and league play and when possible, spends his time working with top ranked junior tennis players in Southern California. He was a member of the Division I tennis team at University of California at Santa Barbara when they ended the year ranked in the top 25 in the nation, the highest in the school’s history. Mr. Hsu spent two years after college as an assistant coach for the men’s tennis team at UCLA, where he helped the Bruins reach the finals of the NCAA Division I Tennis Championships in Athens, Georgia.
